Foxton Prospect Thimble, the half-brother to the Wellington Cup winner Don Quex, is booked to race at Foxton. .He has been doing good work at Awapuni. Winner of Double Pomade, the winner of a double at the Taranaki Hunt meeting last Saturday, Is an aged bay gelding by Broiefort from Merial, by Chief Ruler from Melissa, by Absurd from Amyrim, by Bezonian. Novice Hurdler A member of the Francolin family’m Victory Flight has been nominated for the hurdle race at the Otago Hunt Club’s meeting. Last season he was started 12 times for one win, four thirds, and a fourth. Tra'ctor Blood San Quentin, one of the maiden hurdlers engaged in the Seaview Hurdles at the Otago Hunt Club's meeting, was successful in two races on the flat last season, the more recent of them being the Tradesmen’s Hack Handicap at Wingatui in February over 11 furlongs. He is a six-year-old by Siegfried from Shelter, by Silverado from Windshield, by Tractor from Kilbreeze, by Kilbroney. Engaged at Wingatui , Duvaals was raced five times last season as a two-year-old, and his record was a win and a second. His win was scored in the Russley Handicap, of five furlongs,
at the C.J.C. Easter meeting. He led throughout and won by a neck from Erinborough. The Vaals gelding is due to reappear at the Otago Hunt Club’s meeting on September 6 Hunt Cup Candidate At the Waimate meeting in March Topple finished second to Bravura in the Ngahere Steeples, among those he beat being Appeasement and Irish Wit. An aged gelding by Valkyrian from Turn Over, by Thurnham from Sleepy Head, by Birkenhead from Somniform, by Boniform, he has been nominated for the Otago Hunt Club Steeplechase. Consistent Record Copper Coin is building up a consistent record, and she may win a good-class handicap before the season is over. Her record to date is 17 starts for six wins, two thirds and two fourths. Her stake winnings amount to £I6OO. Sir Galloway Youngster Included in J. W. Pankhurst’s team at Wingatui is a youngster by Sir Galloway from Taieri Maid, who was got by Tractor from Bon Maid, by Boniform from Waimate Maid, by Artillery from Miss George, by St. George from Martyr, by Daniel O’Rourke from Raupo, by Diomedes. Related to Old Scot The name Donegal Tweed has been registered for a two-year-old gelding by Tweed II from Anacre, by Acre from St. Annes, by St. Savin from Conceit. The youngster is a half-brother to Land Court and Old 'Scot. Like Old Scot, he is trained by F. E. Hall at Takanini.
