Gate Takings Top £2OOO Mark

The treasurer of the Otago Rugby Football Union, Mr H. C. Williamson, stated last night that the “gate” takings were approximately £2IOO, the official attend- „ ance being estimated at 25,000. Mr Williamson said that in spite of - the last-minute rush, from the city there was very little congestion at the gates, and the crowd was handled expeditiously. He expressed the union’s appreciation of the enthusiasm shown by the Dunedin public and its apprecia- ' tion of the assistance given by members of the police force and the city traffic department in handling the crowds.
