BRITISH TUG ENGAGED

LONG HAUL FROM SYDNEY AUSTRALIAN PASSENGER LINER Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 18. The British tug Rumania, of 600 tons, will tow the former interstate passenger liner Canberra 2500 miles hum Sydney to Singapore. The tug, which is one of the largest and most powerful ever to enter Sydney, arrived from Singapore late last nighl and will probably leave with the Canberra on Thursday. A spokesman of the company which sold the ship to Chinese buyers would not comment on the suggestion that the new owners had sent the tug to avoid engaging an Australian crew.
