Simple Statement Of Complex Problem
Rec. 9.30 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 20. There is a real, though perhaps not fully realised, difference between the attitude of the two sets of negotiators, says the Washington correspondent of The Times. The British Government has come to find a way of saving dollars by not spending them in hard currency areas. The Americans’ aim is to find means of providing Britain with dollars in order that she may go on spending them. This may be a simple statement of the American attitude, but it contains most of the truth.
