THE WEATHER
FAIR TO FINE The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington: Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, and a complex depression in the Western Tasman Sea is moving eastwards. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate north-easterly winds, freshening in exposed places; weather fair to fine, temperatures rising. Further Outlook. —Increasing cloud as depression approaches. Weather in Dunedin.—A frost of 9.6 deg was registered yesterday morning, but a brilliant day of sunshine followed. The maximum temperature was 49.1 deg, the minimum 3G.2deg, and the grass minimum was 20.4 deg. A total of 9hr 6min of sunshine was recorded. After maintaining a steady level during the day, the barometer at midnight read 30.33 in (1027 millibars).
