TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD

On Thursday afternoon the Townswomen’s Guild held its monthly meeting in the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Hall. The president, Mrs E. T. Seymour, welcomed new members and spoke of the renewed effort of the guild for parcels for Britain. The speaker was Miss M M. Pryde, secretary of the Early Settlers Association, who took as her subject “ Otago as the Pioneer Women Knew It. She described the hardships of travel and settlement, and illustrated her talk with facts gleaned ’from early diaries An amusing sketch entitled “ That s That was given by Mrs White (authoress) and Mrs Hamer.
