SPECIAL FLIGHT'S VICTORY
An Outstanding Performance ADDING TO FAMILY RECORD Special Flight left no doubt about her being a hack of top class by the manner in which she won the Longbeach Handicap on Saturday. Starting from the extreme outside she we\s well placed all the way and, after being fifth to the straight, she gradually wore her rivals down. It was an impressive performance, under a big weight, and the Salmagundi mare looks like going on to good form in open company. Another good performance was that of Ganjah, who also carried a big weight into fourth place from a* wide position at the barrier. He raced very consistently at the meeting. The three-year-old Citril also ran a fine race to finish second to Special Flight after being prominent all the way. She left the impression that she will emulate the deeds of her sister, Derene, as a smart sprinter.
