Two ministers and a lay member of the Methodist Church joined the Rangitiki for the United States, where they will represent New Zealand at the world conference of the Church to be opened at. Springfield, Massachusets. on September .4. They were the Rev. R. G. Slade, of -Dunedin,

president of the New. Zealand Methodist Conference, the Rev. G. T. Laurensbn, general superintendent of Methodist home and Maori missions, and Mr G. S. Gapper, of Dunedin, lay vice-president of the conference. Mrs Gapper is also accompanying the party. In the United States the party will be joined by a fifth delegate, Mr G C. Burton. He was engaged on UNRRA work for some years and more recently was appointed to the staff of the United Nations..
