THE WEATHER
MAINLY FAIR The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday' by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation. —Depressions are centred south of New Zealand and in the South-west Tasman Sea. S Forecast to 5 p.m. to-day.—Mod-erate north-west winds; weather fair, temperatures moderate to mild. Further Outlook.—Mainly Fair. Weather in Dunedin.—The rain which had fallen during the night ceased yesterday morning and the sun brought a warm and pleasant day. Four hours 24 minutes of sunshine were recorded and the maximum temperature was 58 degrees, the minimum being 40.1 degrees, and the grass minimum 36.9. The rainfall up to 9.30 a.m. was 0.06 inches. A light breeze blew from the north-east, After falling steadily, the barometer began to rise soon after noon, and by midnight the heading was 29.60 inches (1002 millibars). -s
