PSYCHOLOGY CLUB

The subject discussed at the Practical Psychology Club last week was: “Is It Wise to Compromise? ” The question, it was stated, was not a purely psychological one. The idea of right or wrong was an ethical one, but before a person could decide on any question he must know something of the human mind and the fundamentals of intelligence and the

reasoning and logic which led to the right conclusion, either psychologically dr ethically. As regards conscience, there was little ■doubt that one could not compromise. Apart from the personal matter of conscience, there was the -great field of civilisation which was, seen to-day in its laws and regulations of compromise. In a political state there could be no such thing as complete personal iiberty. To live in civilised harmony one shared his liberty with his fellow-men on equal terms.
