FELONY OF INFLATION
Sir, Your correspondent A Mere Woman,” writing under the above-men-tioned heading, does not even mention the subject. Instead, she shows considerable interest in the sex of a certain correspondent—as if that matters. She 1 s also pleased to set tip a sort of hogyman of her own, and then proceeds to cock-shy at it. For instance, she says 1 am terribly upset because she “ discloses the sex of a correspondent First, she does nothing of the sort. She simply voices her opinion. Secondly, I cannot be terribly upset, because I did not mention the matter. I am not interested However, I am • interested in the subject of the “ felony of inflation.” I thougnt •that was what we were supposed to be writing about. It-is apparent that we have a serious degree of inflation which, if not soon arrested will gather uncontrollable momentum. Experience shows that the time arrives when, willy-nilly, it accelerates with fantastic speed and plunges into chaos. We would all suffer Inflation is “ an appetite, as a universal wolf, which last .eats up himself ” —a very unpleasant process. If “A Mere Woman ” realised the dangers, I feel sure she would be very grateful, as indeed I am, with Mr James Begg and " Matilda ’’ for their none-too-soon warnings.—l am, etc., Minimus.
