COUNTY ROADS
FORMATION BY HOUSING DEPARTMENT AGREEMENT REACHED An agreement with the Department of Housing Construction has been made by the Works Committee of the City Council concerning the formation of those county roads which will be brought into the city and on which Government housing development abuts. Where the Housing Department proposes a unilateral development, it will undertake the whole of the reformation of the old road, and the widening of its side of it, to city standards in accordance with approved plans and specifications, including the metalling of a standard width of carriageway, and on its side of the road any necessary alterations to poles, etc., the completion of grass margins, paved footway, and the construction of kerbing and channelling. In each case, the City Council will lay in such roads, at its own cost, the necessary water mains, foul sewers and stormwater sewers, excluding house connections to these mains and sewers
