DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS

BIG LIST OF ENTRIES OUTSIDE CENTRES WELL REPRESENTED Entries closed yesterday for the forty-sixth annual musical and elocutionary festival of the Dunedin Competitions' Society, which will commence on August 25. The secretary, Mr J. W Wilson, told the Daily Times that it would be a few days before all the entries reached his hands, but the indications were that they would again be heavy. Competitors from all parts of the South Island would participate in the annual festival, there being a large number from outside Dunedin. To cope with the number oi competitors taking part it will be necessary in addition to using His Majesty’s Theatre, which will be the headquarters, to hold sessions in the Concert Chamber, the Early Settlers’ HAll (for the first week), the Burns Hall, and Jubilee Hall in View street.
