LORNEVILLE STOCK SALE
LITTLE CHANGE IN VALUES A slight improvement in prices for goodquality wethers was shown at the Lomeville sale on Tuesday, but prices in other sections showed little variation on recent rates. Fat Sheep.—About an even number of ewes and wethers was included in the big entry of 594. Except for a few pens of better-quality sorts, which sold about Is 6d above last week’s prices, the wethers were mainly light and unfinished. There was little or ho change in values for ewes. Good-quality medium wethers sold from 38s to 40s; medium quality light 35s to 36s 6d; good-quality maiden ewes 36s to 395; good-quality light sorts, 27s to 30s; freezing ewes, 22s to 255, according to weight and quality.. Fat Cattle.—Compared with the previous sale, there was a slightly smaller entry. About half the yarding of 101 were of good quality, and prices remained on a par with those ruling last week. Competition was only fair for poorer sorts. Quotations: —Good-quality medium-weights to heavy-weights, £l9 to £2O; handyweights, £l6 10s to £l7 10s; light-weights, £l2 10s to £l4; heavy-weight heifers, to £l7; handy-weights, £l3 to £l4 10s; lightweights, £ll 10s to £l2 10s; small, £7 15s to £9.
