STRANDED TRAWLER

ATTEMPT AT REFLOATING P.A... BLENHEIM, May 28. An attempt to,'refloat the trawler Futurist, which drifted ashore at Long Point on the night of March 19, is to be made by Mr C. A. Chapman of Upper Awatere, who successfully tendered for the purchase of the wreck. Mr Chapman said to-day that from a hurried inspection he had reason to believe, that the Futurist was not badly holed. He plans to try to blow up the reef which stands between the vessel and the shore, and will then attempt to haul the ship across the fiat rock formation to the beach. Mr Chapman said he proposed using two winches off the Futurist, operating them on shore by means of a bulldozer. “I have an offer for her if I can get her afloat again,” he added.
