POLICE SEARCH FOR WEAPON*

P.A. AUCKLAND, May 26. , The, body of an elderly man who had died from a wound in his throat wsa found lying in a paddock on his 400-acre property at Tamarata, seven miles from Wefisford. He was William Henry Barber, aged 67, single. No weapon which might have inflicted the wound was found near the body. Yesterday, detectives were despatched by car from Auckland but darkness interfered with their search for the :wea‘pon. Barber' was last seen on Wednesday. He was found lying on his back about a mile from his. homestead. His sheep dog was watching over his body. He lived alone and had apparently been working on his property shortly before, his death.
