Twenty-eight men, mostly taxi drivers, were charged before a jury at Greenville, South Carolina, last week with removing and lynching a negro prisoner who was held in custody in the Greenville gaol. All 28 were acquitted. This photograph shows some of the accused men leaving the court after being arrested.
