Mr J. S. Little left for Wellington by the express on Saturday morning. Mr C. E. White, of the Public Trust Office at Dunedin, has been appointed chief inspector of the Public Trust Office at Wellington. He was formerly Public Trustee at Invercargill. The Mayor, Mr Cameron, returned to Dunedin on Saturday after attending the conference of South Island local bodies at Oamaru. The Rev. W. A. Brown, of Albany, in the diocese of Goulburn, New South Wales who arrived in Dunedin on Saturday,’ preached at the Anderson's Bay. St. John’s, and St. Martin's Anglican Churches yesterday, ana will address an youth meeting to-night. Mr Brown is on his way to the World Youth Conference at Oslo, Norway. Mr W B. Richards, the national president of the New Zealand Tramways Union, left Dunedin on Saturday morning for Wellington. He will attend a conference at which remits from branches of the union will be discussed, after which he will preside over the annual conference of the New Zealand Transport Federation. . Lord Killearn, formerly Sir Miles Lampson, wht> was appointed last year as Special Commissioner in South-east Asia for the British Government arrived in Dunedin yesterday- from Queenstown. He was met tjy the Mayor, Mr Cameron, last night, and with Lady Killearn will be conducted on a tour of the city to-day. He will leave to-morrow for Christchurch and the West Coast, and will leave New Zealand on June 12 for Sydney, en route to Singapore. The Chief Justice, Sir Humphrey O’Leary, was taken ill suddenly in Wellington on Saturday and was admitted to the Lewisham Hospital. His doctor states that Sir Humphrey s condition had been brought about by overwork and gave no cause for concern. He had been ordered to take a complete rest from his duties for a month and would remain in hospital about two weeks. Sir Humphrey was watching a Rugby football match at Athletic Park when he became ill. Passengers who left by air for the north on Saturday were:—Mr H. C. Foster, Mr G. Aitcheson (Christchurch) Mr T.
