GARRISON BAND
Mr A. Nuttall was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Garrison Band on Thursday night. Members were reminded of the broadcast from 4YA Dunedin on Tuesday night of the selection “ Echoes of Schubert,” played by the band at the Wanganui contest in March. A letter was received from Mr J. H. May, a North Island resident, congratulating the band on its playing of the hymn
“ New Rochdale ” at the Wanganui contest, It was decided to support a deputation to the Oamaru Borough Council regarding the letting of the Opera House on Saturday nights.
