FOOTBALLERS’ MEMORIAL
ZINGARI-RICHMOND CLUB UNVEILING CEREMONY A memorial tablet bearing the names of 19 members of the First World War and 21 members of the last war who made the supreme sacrifice while serving during those wars was unveiled by the president of the Zingari-Richmond Rugby Football Club, Mr G. Calder, at a function in the club’s pavilion at Montecillo on Saturday afternoon. The Mayor. Mr Cameron, who is a vice-president of the club, Mr R. W. S. Botting, president of the Otago Rugby Football Union, Mr E. F. Tibbitts, of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association, and Mr R. M. Wilkie, of the Home Servicemen’s Association, made appropriate references to the occasion. Some 200 members of the club and relatives of the fallen members attended the ceremony. Trumpeter A. Campbell, of the Kaikorai Band, played the " Last Post ’’ ar.d the reveille.
