ANZAC DAY
OAMARU'S OBSERVANCE Oamaru’s observance of Anzac Day on Friday will follow, the same form as in previous years. A dawn service will be held at the Great War Memorial at 6 o'clock, and the R.S.A. parade will commence at 2.15 p.m., followed by the commemoration service at 3 o’clock. The parade in the afternoon will form up at the Drill Hall, Itchen street, facing north, at 2.15 p.m. in the following order:—Wreath-bearers, returned servicewomen, South African veterans, Oamaru R.S.A., Air Training Corps, girl guides, and boy scouts. The Oamaru Garrison Band will assemble at the corner of Ure and Itchen streets and the North Otago Highland Pipe Band at the west end of the Drill Hall. At the conclusion of the parade the column will march to the Opera House, where the two bands will occupy the stage. South African veterans and returned servicemen the north side of the auditorium, and the guides and scouts the south side. The speaker will be Mr J. E. Farrell. Speakers at the country services will be:—Kurow, Mr F. Crimp; Duntroon and Weston, Rev. G. Falloon; Hampden and Herbert, Rev. D. H. Stewart; Maheno, Rev. G. Macrae: Totara-Alma-Deborah, Mr J. C. Kirkness; Papakaio. Mr J. Graham.
