CHANGE OF PRISONS

TERRORIST DOV GRUNER APPEAL AGAINST SENTENCE LODGED JERUSALEM, Apl. 14. The authorities moved Dov Gruner and six other terrorists condemned to death from the Jerusalem central prison to the Acre prisbn fortress. The police are believed to have been informed of a possible terrorist attempt to break into Jerusalem prison. In London to-day a firm of London solicitors lodged, on behalf of Mr Rokach, Mayor of Tel-Aviv. a petition with the Privy Council, seeking leave to appeal against the death sentence on Dov Gruner. The firm also cabled General Sir Alan Cunningham that the petition had been lodged. The Palestine Government earlier today informed the solicitors that the petition which the firm had cabled to the Government on April 8 seeking postponement of Gruner’s execution pending appeal to the Privy Council had been communicated to General MacMillan, G.O.C. Palestine. The Government added that no undertaking could be given that the solicitors’ request could be granted.
