SUPPLIES FOR BRITAIN
SPECIAL RELIEF FLIGHT AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS PROPOSAL Rec 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Mar. 29. The Australian Red Cross has proposed to charter a Skymaster plane to fly six tons of relief supplies to British flood sufferers. The cargo will consist of concentrated food, clothing and other necessities. The Prime Minister, Mr J. B. Chifley, and the Minister of Air, Mr A. S. Drakeford, discussed the proposal m Canberra yesterday. Mr Drakeford will refer the suggestion to the British Overseas Airway Corporation and Quantas Empire Airways, which conduct air services between Britain and Australia. The cost of the journey would be about £12,000.
