'provision for the adoption of Maori 1 children by Maori parents along the '$ lines of the adoption of European I children by European parents is conStained in an amendment to the Maori ! Births and Deaths Registration Regulations, J 935. Under the amendment | a Maori can now obtain a copy of a • re-entry made by the Registrar-gene-ral whereas previously there, was no I; provision by which, the Registrar-gene-ral could re-register a birth in the names of the adopting parents.
