MANCHESTER UNITY The L-oyai Hand and Heart Lodge held a meeting last Tuesday night.. The court was in mourning out of respect to the memory of the late Bro. C. Grater Bro. Grater was grand master of his lodge in 1892 He held the responsible post of auditor for 15 years, and later was f trustee for 35 years until a' serious break. In his health caused his retirement. The passing also of the lodge auditor, the late P.P.G.M. Bro. W. E, C. Reid, was noted with regret. One new member was intiated, and a further proposal for membership received. The annual district committee meeting will be held in the lodgeroom of Loyal Hand and Heart on March 29 „ N G Bro. G. H. Young presided over sn interesting meeting at Loyal Valley on Monday night. A discussion over the committee’s suggestions in feference to the 1000 new membership campaign was held and a small committee was appointed to consider ways and means in connection therewith. It was reported that PPG.M. Bro F W Knight had completed 70 years of membership in the Order in the Otago district, which constitutes a record for the district. Princess Mary continues to noia successful meetings and add an occasional member to the lodge’ roll. NG. Sis J. Knowles is in charge. Several successful rd evenings have been held, and it is proposed t.o hold a programme of 'lrish terns next meeting. On the occasion of -celebrating his eightieth birthday. PG.G. 3ro J. A.
