CLINTON STOCK SALE
A FIRM MARKET The Clinton stock sale was held yesterday and an entry of 2088 sheep was submitted to auction. This comprised a few consignments of ewe lambs, some of which were of very good quality, but the bulk of the offering was made up of wether lambs, principally medium descriptions. There was a fair attendance, including Southland buyers, and a firm sale resulted for all classes. Quotations: Best ewe lambs, from 29s to 325; medium ewe lambs, from 24s 9d to 26s 6d; small tussock ewe lambs, from 21s to 21s 2d; best wether lambs, to 23s 9d; medium wether lambs, from 21s to 22s lOd; cull wether lambs, down to 14s; four-tooth Romney cross ewes. 345; s.m.. Romney cross ewes, 265; failing-mouth ewes, 13s 6d; Tat and forward two-tooth wethers. 345: four and six-tooth wethers, 29s 9d.
