CALL TO AMERICANS

ASSISTANCE FOR BRITAIN FORMER CRITIC'S GESTURE Rec. 11.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Feb. 27. i The New York Post, which has been a severe critic of Brtiish policy in Palestine, says editorially: “ It would be worse than foolish to allow the great issue of Palestine to obscure another great issue—the necessity of aid to Britain.” Asserting that Britain must not be lost as a partner strong enough to help to shape a better world, the editorial says, “Neither from the White House nor from Congress has come a comprehensive programme to aid in more than a short fashion. We propose that both the Democratic President and the Republican-controlled Congress should re-examine Britain’s needs and propose, if possible, a complete American plan to help her recover and discharge her responsibilities as one of the Big Three."
