Whale Steaks May Add Variety To Great Britain’s Diet
(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. Whale steaks may be on British menus by the end of May. They will be brought *in cold storage from the Antarctic. They are cut from the middle of the whale’s back, and are reported to he “ excellent, something like good beef steak.” There are now 13 whaling expeditions in the Antarctic—three British, seven Norwegian, two Japanese and one South African. British and Norwegian inspectors are in the Japanese ships to see that they “obey the rules.”
