Potatoes and wheat suffered severely, and ryegrass in some instances was left in such bad shape that there is doubt whether the crop can be harvested. Jagged lumps of ice from about the size of a cherry to an inch in diameter fell over an area extending from north of Glenavy to Willowbridge.
