NO POSTPONEMENT
WELLINGTON WOOL SALES SHIPPING PROBLEM FACES BUYERS s' (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 5. Although overseas wool buyers will attend the wool sale to be held at Wellington to-morrow, there is still some doubt whether they will operate or simply watch the trend of the market and leave the bidding to the buyers for local mills. No statement of the attitude they intended to adopt was available to-night. Because of the existing conditions on the waterfront, overseas buyers have been concerned for some time about the delays in shipping their wool purchases, and some have suggested a postponement of the sales. The question was discussed during the week-end by a committee representing the buyers. Their spokesmen stated to-night that the buyers would be at the sale when it began. A statement on their attiude would probably then be made through the New Zealand Wool Buyers’ Association. -
