ST. JOHN BRIGADE FILLS

BREACH (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. The staffing of the Knox Home for elderly invalids was taken over by the St. John Ambulance Brigade on New Year’s Day. It was announced in the middle of November that the staff shortage was so acute that unless help was forthcoming the home would hav« had to shut down. It was then announced by the commissioner of the Mr D. E. Mackay, that, with the agreement of the Auckland Hospital Board, the St. John Ambulance Brigade would provide the staff for Knox Home.
