PRACTICAL RESTITUTION
GERMAN PRISONERS’ GESTURE (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 31. Twelve volunteer German prisoners started digging in a quarry near Hastings, Sussex, yesterday for stone to rebuild St. Leonard’s Parish Church, which was destroyed by a German flying bomb in July. 1944. They will work eight hours daily without pay until there is enough stone.
