THE BOYS’ BRIGADE
SUMMER CAMP, DUNBACK During the period from December 26 to January 4 the Boys’ Brigade, Otago Battalion, is holding its annual camp. Forty-eight boys and six officers are enjoying fine but windy weather in the Dunback Domain. An extensive area surrounded by trees on the banks of the Shag River makes an ideal site for a camp, and the boys are enjoying cricket, football, tennis, and other games, interspersed with tramps, in addition to instructional classes on some aspects of Boys' Brigade work. Light showers have fallen on two or three days, but these have not been heavy enough to upset the camp programme. Hardy spirits have been swimming, but a cold wind has discouraged others. A request for items from each tent groups for the first camp concert produced some 15 selections of a varied nature. These, though produced without opportunity for rehearsal, were greatly enjoyed by the boys. p n Sunday morning a drum-head service was held in camp, and in the evening a church parade conducted by the campers was held in the Dunback Church. The camping party will return to Dunedin on Saturday.
