TANKER DIVERTED British Merit (Shell Oil Company), which was coming here with fuel oil from Abadan, has been diverted to Auckland in place of the Athel Victor,, which developed engine trouble in the Tasman Sea and had to return to Australia. The Atlantides is expected here towards the end of January with bulk motor spirit. SALAMAUA LEAVES SYDNEY Salamaua (Union Steam Ship Co. Ltd.) sailed from Sydney on December 23 for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. - HARTLEPOOL’S MOVEMENTS Hartlepool (Union Steam Ship Co Ltd.), from Melbourne and Cape Thevenard, is scheduled to leave Adelaide on January 8 for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.
