Jottings The Trentham sales will be held on January 17 Acceptances and withdrawals for the Southland meeting are due to-day. Joygiver is favourite for the Wyndham Cup. D. P. Wilson has nominated Patmos, Frances. Incitatus and Grill for the meeting at Trentham. Salmon Spear’s finishing run at Wingatui left the impression that distance will not trouble him. One of the disappointments of the Dunedin Cup meeting was Eriskay. ; She never threatened danger on either day. Not Nominated Alamode was not nominated for the Trentham meeting. Apparently he came to hand so quickly that he surprised the stable connections. Artful Maid 9.0 was omitted from the acceptances for the Pukeuri High-weight Handicap and from the Waitaki Hack Handicap 7.7 for the Oamaru Club's meeting. Consistent Gold Lance has been showing improved form, and his consistency entitles him to consideration as a place prospect for the Waikouaiti Cup. Improving with Racing Blue Hussar is improving with racing and shows promise of developing into a very useful performer. He is one of R. P. Register’s team and is a three-year-old by Battle Song from Blue Bouquet. Hurdle Prospect Amorlad may yet develop into a smart hurdler. In the Owhiro Handicap on Saturday he was close to the leaders with three furlongs to go, where he struck heavily. He was moving better than anything else at the time. In Fractious Mood The Siegfried mare Agility will need to be steadied down if she is to become a reliable racehorse. She was in fractious mood on Saturday. Her dam was that fine mare Celerity 11. On the Minimum Petty Cash was one of the leaders for most of the journey in the Waihola Handicap, and, taking a line through that form, the Te Monanlfi gelding should be prominent in the High-weight Handicap at the Waikouaiti meeting, in which he is on the minimum. Roblngay’s Lines Roblngay, who followed Indian Dawn home in the firial event at Wingatui, is a four-year-old gelding by Robin Goodfellow— Gay Paper, by Paper Money—Gay Robe, by Robespierre—Keel Row, by Gay Lad—Bonnie Bouche, by Boniform. Manawatu Cup Winner Saludos, the winner of the Manawatu Cup, is an aged bay gelding by Salmagundi from the oWodend mare Ballasalla and was bred at Otautau by Mr A. Chisholm,
