CONSERVING COAL
INDUSTRIAL POWER CUTS WINTER MEASURE IN BRITAIN (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 4. The Minister of Fuel and Power, Mr Emanuel Shinwell, notified industry that it must cut the use of gas and electricity by 2\ per cent, in the first three months of the new year, and that it must also aim at a 5 per cent, reduction of coal consumption to get thrpugh the winter without a serious interruption in activity. Essential industries would be exempted.
