EXECUTIVE- POSITIONS * ■— ■■■ APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED tP.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. Further appointments to the New Zealand National Airways Corporation were announced to-day by the chairman, Sir Leonard Isitt. The appointments were those of chief accountant, chief engineer, operations manager, training supervisor, and secretary to the. Board. Mr D. E. Foley, who has been appointed chief accountant, was seconded to Union Airways Ltd. eight years ago in a similar capacity after years of executive and accountancy experience with the Union Steam Ship Co. Ltd. He was responsible for the accounting for both Union Airways and Tasman Empire Airways. Mr L. Mang’nam, the Corporation’s new chief engineer, has been chief engineer for Union Airways since its inception. Mr A. G. Gerrand, who has been appointed operations manager, was an original pilot commander of the Union Airways’ service,, and before the outbreak of war he held the position of service manager. He saw service with the R.N.Z.A.F. and' the R.A.F.' Transport Command, and returned to New Zealand last year to become operations manager of Union Airways. Mr H. C. Walker, who has been appointed training supel-visor, has been a pilot commander in Union Airways for the oast 10 years. Aftgr long service in the R.N.Z.A.F., he rose to the rank of Wing-Commander, and received an American decoration for service in the Pacific. Mr Walker was the pilot who accompanied the late Squad-ron-Leader H. C. McGregor in the Hawk in the Macßobertson Centenary Ensland-Melbourne air race. The new secretary to the Board. Wing-Commander K. J. Crichton, recently returned from England, where he was senior administration officer at R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters in London.
