KITCHEN EVENING

Miss Shona McCabe, of Kakanui, was the recipient of many useful gifts at a kitchen evening tendered to her recently. Novelty dances were won by Mr and Mrs J McCabe, and Mr Allan Tyson and Mrs W Dalgety. Master Trevor Wilson won a policeman’s promenade, Mr Doyle arid Miss McCabe an apple Derby, and Miss Jean Love a broom competition. A handkerchief afternoon in honour of Miss McCabe was given by friends at the home of Mrs Seaman. Some beautiful handkerchiefs were given to Miss McCabe, and each visitor inserted in a special souvenir book a signed recipe. The winners of the various competitions were:— Blindfold artistry: Miss Shona McCabe. Kakanui .names: Mrs E. Jones. Memory test: Miss Jean Tyson.
