DEAD OF NIGHT”

Four of Britain’s most talented directors combined forces with the producer. Michael Balcon, to make the important British film, “ Dsad of Night,” which heads the new bill at the Empire Theatre. The film is the work of several brilliant writers. Each story is an essay into the macabre, and the whole is linked together to make a thrilling story. The central Story of "Dead of Night” is based on ” The Room in the Tower,” by F. E. Benson, and concerns a man who is the victim of a recurrent nightmare. In his dream he visits a certain house and meets thers a group of healthy, normal people, as far removEd from the ’’ supernormal ” a s it is possible to imagine. Yet each in turn proves to have been the central figure—or an important witness—of some , macabre incident or other. Thsse experiences form the episodes which comprise the film. The cast includes such famous as Michael Redgrave. Mervyn Johns, and Rosland Culver. Box plans are at the, Theatre.
