IMPROVING GRADUALLY Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorlogical Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A depression centred west of the Sounds is almost stationary, but prcsspres are relatively high south-east of Otago. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate easterly to north-easterly winds; ■ weather cloudy to overcast at. first, with occasional drizzle or rain, but conditions improving gradually, especially inland; temperatures cool. Further Outlook.—Fair, except for coastal drizzle. Weather in Dunedin.—Light showers of rain fell in Dunedin yesterday, and the sky was heavily overcast all day.' Temperatures were cool, the maximum reading being 46deg, and the minimum ■44.sdeg. The rainfall totalled 0.15 in. The wind changed from a light south-easterly to a north-easterly during the morning. Barometric pressure rose slightly to 30.00 in (1016 millibars)'at midnight.
