PROFIT ON BREAD

GROCERS SATISFIED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 16. The opinion that the profit on bread was satisfactory and that they did not require a larger profit as it would probably result m raising of the price to the consumer was unanimously arrived at by members representing 131 grocery shops who attended a meeting of the Wellington Chain Gro’cery Stores Association, states a supplied report. Members, realising that bread was a staple commodity and that they were in business for the benefit of the public, desired it to be made known thac they would continue to serve the public and stock and sell bread at the same margin of profit as at present.
