OPULENT IN THE GUINEAS (Special) WELLINGTON. Oct. 4. The first contest for the Hawke’s Bay Guineas since 1930 will be decided at Hastings to-morrow, when the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club will conclude its spring meeting. A field of about 10 appears likely. Flying Robin has been withdrawn, Desert Fox is a doubtful starter, and Sea Fury will not be at the meeting. The weather has remained fine during the week, and the going again will be in good order. Voltaic. 1.0: Russell Memorial Handicap.—Catterlck Bridge, Cramond Bay, Delinquent. 1.45: Trial Handicap.—King’s Ransom. Haere Huku, Alumnus. 2.30: Juvenile Handicap.—Petre Mar. Sparkling Scholar. Erinmore. 3.15: Hawke’s Bay Guineas.—Opulent Morocco. Sakuntala. 4.0: Stewards’ Handicap.—Royal Heir, Blue Chips, Matador. 4.45. Final Handicap.—Playtos, Czarina, Mesalliance.
