CLUTHA VALLEY SCHOOL
Sir,—ln reply to "Disgusted Parents letter, I would like to point out that she is quite right when she suggests that the money we earn for cleaning the school is used partly to pay our bus fares to other centres for our annual basketball and football games. It is also used to provide us with books and sports equipment. We earn this money and therefore it is only right that we have some say in how it is spent. Does '* Disgusted Parent ” mean to say that when she earns money she lets someone else dictate to her how it should be spent? As far as “ more work and less play ” is concerned I would like to point out to “ Disgusted Parent ” that " all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” She must realise that country schools are at a disadvantage and it is only by these trips that we can make any contact with other schools.—l am, etc., Willing Pupil Worker.
