TWO PEOPLE KILLED
FOUR OTHERS WOUNDED CRIME IN SYDNEY SUBURB (Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 30. ' A man and a woman were fatally shot and four other people wounded as the result of a revolver affray in a two-roomed wooden cottage in the suburb of Waterloo late last night. When the police arrived they found Miss Marjorie Nurse, 19 years of age. dead in the kitchen with a bullet hole in her forehead. Alfred Dawes, dealer, 26, who was also shot in the head, died in the Sydney Hospital early this morning. The deceased man’s father and wife and two young men are in hospital suffering from bullet wounds. According to the story of deceased’s wife, a man entered the kitchen, pointing the gun- at people sitting at a table. One of the men charged him and pushed the revolver away. There was a shot, and she felt a burning sensation in her left shoulder. Just before she fainted she heard a series of shots. The police say that earlier there had been a brawl Ln the street outside the cottage. The weapon used was an American service type revolver of .38 calibre.
An underworld fued between two well-known criminals dating back many years is believed to lie behind the murder.
