GOLF The first round of the championship was played last Saturday. The results were as follows:—Father McMahon beat Morgan 6—4, Deaker beat Gardiner 1 up at the twentieth, Haig beat Dr Riley 6—5, Charles beat Alexander 5—4. In the second round Father McMahon will play Deaker and Haig will play Charles. During the week-end the Alexandra Club paid a visit. The Alexandra men won 5 up and the local ladies won 2 up. A medal round will be played next Saturday. The draw is as follows Father McMahon v. Deaker, Haig v. Charles, Bell v. Scoular, Gardiner v. Naylor, Alpine v. Ingram, Dr Riley v. Ingram, jun., Alexander v. Woods.
