BABY SUFFOCATES

(P.A.) NELSON, Aug. 27. ■ John Ellis Brown, the six-months-old baby of Mr and Mrs P. W. Brown, of Annesbrook .was found dead in his cot to-day, the cause of death being suffocation, Mrs Brown had attended to the child at 9 o’clock and when she went to give him a bottle at 10 o’clock she found the baby face down in the pillow and lifeless. A doctor certified that death was due to suffocation.
