Clinton.—Mrs Charles, the provincial president, attended the meeting, and spoke on the Dominion conference and the twenty-first birthday celebrations, also on matters discussed at the last provincial executive meeting The opportunity was taken to present a token of appreciation to Miss McPherson, who has held office for 12 years. Sprays were presented to Mrs Charles, Mrs North (president), and Miss McPherson. Maniototo.—Mrs W. Helm presided. It was reported that the “ Fat for Britain ” depot had been established at Topham, Ltd., freezer. Housewives are asked to put their fat collections in the containers provided. It was decided to send a division parcel to Britain every month, contributions for which may be left in a box supplied for the purpose in the County Chambers. Reports on the executive meeting and the recent conference were given by Mrs Smith and Mrs Helm respectively. The district nurse attended and gave an interesting talk on her work, especially in connection with the younger children. The competition resulted: Mrs Helm 1 and 3 and Mrs Smith 2 The hostesses were Mesdames Barlthrop, Jones, D. T. Weir, and J Weir. Oturehua.—Mrs J. Wilson presided over the monthly meeting, with an attendance of 35. The roll call was, “ Who chatters to you will chatter of you.” It was decided to send food parcels to the Dr Barnardo Homes in England, and to collect fat in blocks, at the next meeting. This will be sent to Dunedin in a drum. The competition, " Oldfashioned Photo,” resulted as follows: Mrs W. McKnight, Mrs F. McSkimming, and Mrs Farmer (equal) 1. An interesting demonstration of rag rug-making was given by Miss M. McKnight, who displayed some beautiful completed samples. Afternoon tea brought the meeting to a close.

Milburn-Clarendon. The fourteenth birthday was celebrated on Friday last, when the guests were welcomed by the president, Mrs J. Kane. Entertainment was provided by a concert party from Mosgiel under the leadership of Mrs Lobb. Four members of the Milton W.I. presented a one-act play. Mrs Elliott, Dominion president, and Mrs Charles, Otago provincial president, addressed the members. Supper and dancing concluded the evening.
