LAWN TENNIS

ROSLYN CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Roslyn Lawn Tehnis Club was held on Wednesday evening, there being a good attendance of members. Mr J. B. Steven presided. The report and balance sheet showed the club to be in a good financial position, and, with the return of the members from overseas, prospects for the coming season were good. A welcome was extended to club members who had returned since last season, and congratulations were offered to Mrs T. Rawiinson on her in-, elusion in the ranking list of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, and also to Mr O. M. Ellis on his successes at the New Zealand junior championships and the South Island championships at Easter.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr J. B. Steven; vicepresidents—Miss R. Burton, Messrs A. C. McGeorge. T. Grimsdale and W. Gorton; past president, Mr R. G. Sincock; committee—Mesdames A. J. Borthwick and G A. Pearce, Messrs L. Jackson. W. M. Mackay, G. O’Driscoll and J. Walcott; secretary and treasurer. Miss D. Rackley; auditor. Mr N. Mollison; delegates to the Otago Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs G. I. Black and R. G. Sincock. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 28, when a Yankee tournament will be held.
