Sir,—Mr Nordmeyer, who is, or was, a minister of the Gospel, is also an astute politician. In his recent address at Ngapara he is reported to have staled that many war-time controls have been removed He is not reported to have told his audience of the almost Innumerable controls that would be imposed if his party were unfortunately returned to power to bring in “ ultimate socialism." Nor did he mention the army of inspectors that would be needed to enforce those controls and to ensure the curtailment of the liberties of the people. I think he also forgot to mention “ the road to serfdom.” He was probably on the soft pedal, with the election pending.—l am. etc., Awake. August IS.
