MEAT TRADE WARNED
LAW MUST BE OBSERVED PROMPT ANSWER TO RUMOUR (Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 16. If any traders were foolish enough to disregard the meat rationing regulations. they would be prosecuted immediately, said the Minister of Trade and Customs. Senator J. M. Fraser, yesterday. He was commenting on reports that certain sections of the meat trade had been canvassed to ascertain whether they would agree to break meat ration - ing by refusing to buy and sell against meat coupons. He strongly advised the trade not to be misled by such agitators and to observe rationing faithfully as long as it was the law.
